Have you ever read a book that had you so completely drawn in that you didn't realize you were on the last page already? Reddened Wasteland by Kyle Perkins had me hooked from page one, and didn't release it's hold until the very end.Įarth's population has been living on Mars for the last 200 years, trying to re-build themselves into a better community. I believe that this is a wonderful novel that anyone with a love of Science Fiction should pick up. This story had it all Action, Romance, and just enough of a cliffhanger that makes you want the next addition to the series without feeling like you have to buy it to get a conclusion to this novel.

Kyle did a wonderful job with Reddened Wasteland and I would never have thought by reading it that it was his debut novel because he writes like a seasoned professional. It took me a few chapters to get into this book but once I did I had a hard time putting it down. But when he is told by a member of Liberty's Hammer that he will never see Velar again will it crush him or will it push him even harder to destroy the group that The Union has deemed a terrorist organization? What he doesn't realize at the time is what he agreed to do to protect his fellow miners, they take as an act of betrayal.Īs Alerik continues working for The Union, he comes to find that Velar has been captured by Liberty's Hammer and it fuels his rage to do everything in his power to get her back. So when The Union asks him for help to put a stop to a terrorist organization called Liberty's Hammer, he agrees to protect Velar and his fellow miners. Mars is not the paradise that the citizens of Earth were promised two hundred years ago and by the day the conditions and the quality of life has been decreasing in Liberty.Īlerik has been working in the mines as long as he can remember and has been protective of Velar for some time now. But Alerik and Velar, our two main characters find themselves questioning that as the days go on.

The People of Earth migrated to Mars over two hundred years ago because Earth was no longer able to sustain human life, or at least that is the story that The Union has drilled into everyone's mind.
